Full accessMy median prediction for Meta making a qualifying Hyperion cost-overrun guarantee payment is June 2029 because S&P’s rent-start date anchors the timing of potential construction funding shortfalls.

Forecast context
Meta and Blue Owl funds established a joint venture for the Hyperion campus in Richland Parish, Louisiana. S&P's 2 November 2026 Beignet report describes Meta as guaranteeing construction costs above the fixed construction budget, which includes a 5% contingency. This forecast concerns payments under that specific guarantee, rather than Meta's ordinary equity funding or tenant rent. Clarifications
Resolve on the first date after 23:59 UTC on 5 November 2026 that Meta Platforms Inc. or a consolidated subsidiary makes an actual cash payment under the construction cost-overrun guarantee for the original Hyperion/Beignet data-centre campus in Richland Parish, Louisiana, pursuant to the financing arrangements in effect on 5 November 2026. The payment must cover original-scope construction costs exceeding the contractual fixed construction budget including its contingency.
Ordinary pro-rata equity contributions, originally scheduled financing commitments, rent, power payments, residual-value guarantee payments, provisions without cash settlement and spending for separately agreed additional capacity or scope changes do not qualify. Additional spending counts only if public evidence identifies it as fulfilment of the original construction cost-overrun guarantee, not merely as a higher total Hyperion investment budget.
Use the actual payment date documented in regulatory filings, public court records, an official Meta or joint-venture announcement, lender disclosures or an S&P, Moody's or Fitch publication. Reuters, Bloomberg, Financial Times or Wall Street Journal reporting confirming the payment may serve as fallback. If the exact day is unavailable but a qualifying payment after 5 November 2026 is confirmed, use the first public confirmation date. A demand or an announcement that Meta expects to pay is insufficient.
